AC50 serial number 1338

Last third of 1964 - very early large box.

Unused for well over twenty years, serial number 1338 came back to life with little or no fuss. AC50 mark 2s are extremely hardy. The pots have date codes "BL", "DL", and "GL" = February, April, and July 1964 for their manufacture. The Mullard mustards have "A4N", "B4N", "B/64" = first and second quarters of 1964; and the Hunts caps have a spread of dates from 39th week of '63 to the 27th week of '64. The Welwyn 470R resistor across the speaker terminal block has "VE" = May 1964.

As mentioned , three of the original valves survive: GZ34 date code "B4F4" = 4th week of June 1964 for manufacture, paint code "LG" = July 1964 for finishing; an ECC82 with "B4E4" = 4th week of May '64, paint code "LE" = May '64; and an ECC83 with "B4D2" = 2nd week of April '64, paint code May '64.
